Description:

Trolox has a chromanol ring structure similar to that of α-tocopherol, the active form of vitamin E. However, it includes a carboxylic acid group, which enhances its solubility in water. This makes Trolox particularly useful in aqueous systems and cell culture experiments.

It’s acts by donating hydrogen atoms or electrons to neutralize free radicals, thereby preventing oxidative damage to biomolecules like lipids, proteins, and DNA.
