Tween 80 is a non-ionic surfactant, commonly used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and the food industry. Its chemical name is polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate and it’s derived from the esterification of sorbitol and oleic acid. It has emulsifying, wetting, dispersing, and stabilizing properties.
